Drumming

‘Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without’ Confucius.

The heart beat is like a drum, beating life force to every part of the body, just like a drumming circle is all about rhythm and team work that creates a unison of sounds and group interaction, so too with a happy and joyful heart, the more the whole body works together the healthier, happier and more joyful.

What is at the heart of your business? What beat does it drum to?

Drumming was an ancient therapeutic approach that used rhythm to promote healing and self-expression. From the shamans of Mongolia to the Minianka healers of West Africa, therapeutic rhythm techniques have been used for thousands of years to create and maintain physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Current research is now verifying the therapeutic effects of ancient rhythm techniques. Recent research reviews indicate that drumming accelerates physical healing, boosts the immune system and produces feelings of well-being, a release of emotional trauma, and reintegration of self.

Drumming challenges traditional paradigms. According to Midge Waters, associate Dean of the University of Toyota, the primary benefits of the drum circles for Toyota include ; experiencing a “high-performance team,” morale building, interpersonal connecting, stress reduction and experiencing teamwork. “It’s an opportunity for our associates to listen to each other and put their personal creativity into the process.”
